Co-productions in the North Calotte area - the Filmikaari project
Filmikaari (Film Arc) is a cross-border cooperation project between Northern Sweden and Northern Ostrobothnia on the coast of the Bothnian Bay. Its aim is to increase the number of co-productions in the North Calotte area and to reinforce the status of the Bothnian Arc as the media cluster of Northern Scandinavia.
Two local film organisations, the POEM Foundation in Oulu and Filmpool Nord in Luleå, are in charge of the development process.
The first part of the Filmikaari strategy was published in November 2005.
The second part of the Filmikaari strategy will be completed by the beginning of December 2006. The second part of the strategy will also include cooperation with the resource centres of Northern Norway.
