Founding members

The founding members of the POEM Foundation are:

• the City of Oulu
• the Oulu University of Applied Sciences
• the Council of Oulu Region

The foundation works in partnership with Naturpolis, located in the Northeast of Finland.

The establishment of the POEM Foundation was announced in August 2005 in connection with the 400th jubilee of the City of Oulu. Its operations officially started on 27 February 2006. Before that, POEM ran for six years (1999-2005) as an EU funded project managed by the City of Oulu.
