FilmArc
The Film Arc project is intended to strengthen the audiovisual sector in the creative industries in Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Northern Norway and Northern Finland, i.e. the Film Arc region. The audiovisual sector includes filmmakers and companies that produce moving images in film productions, documentaries and short films, animation, computer games, advertising films, mobile content, information films and tourism films.
The project aims to strengthen production companies through business development. Master Classes / workshops start in January 2009, when 40 companies from the Film Arc region will meet, get inspiration and knowledge by international high class tutors, and work to improve their business skills.
The plan is also to create a stronger network, so that filmmakers and film companies can be more mobile within the Film Arc region. A media platform is the visual face of the project and also contains a common register of filmmakers and film companies.
The project is due to run for three years. The overall project budget is 3 million euro, of which 40% will be from the EU and 60% from the regions. POEM-Foundation, Filmpool Nord (SWE), Film i Västerbotten (SWE) and Filmcamp (NOR) are project partners that will break borders to achieve global business.
